1、 Preparation before oil seal installation

1. When using the oil seal being kept, please do not use the oil seal with sand, dust and other foreign matters, which will lead to leakage.

2. Please do not rub the oil seal lip end with nails and hard objects. Various measures should be taken at the thread, keyway and spline of oil seal lip to prevent lip damage. The roughness of the material used for protection of thread, keyway and spline shall not exceed 3.2um, and scratch and burr are not allowed. The end of oil seal lip is the most important part of oil seal function.

3. T-type and K-type oil seals are oil seals with more than 2 lips, which can be used to lubricate the oil between the lips.

4. S type, V type, TCK type oil seals have only one lip, and it is also necessary to apply grease on the lip end to lubricate the lip.

5. Before installation, please do not damage the shaft and cavity. Due to its leakage, it is better not to make the precision machined shaft and cavity collide with other parts. Generally, plastic clamps are used for handling.

6. Put the sealing lip end of oil seal towards the side of sealing medium, and avoid reverse assembly. When installing the oil seal of one-way return line, make sure that the arrow direction marked on the oil seal is consistent with the rotation direction of the shaft, and do not install it in reverse.

2、 Shaft and cavity

1. The surface of the shaft and the inner surface of the cavity hole shall not be attached with rust proof oil or dust. If any, please clean it. When cleaning with wash oil and gasoline, please wipe it clean. At this time with compressed air injection, can achieve the effect of invisible parts. The cleaning oil and gasoline remain in the shaft and cavity hole, which causes the oil seal to expand and fail.

2. There shall be no burr and defect on the inner surface of cavity hole and chamfered part and oil seal when passing through shaft end and shaft. Because burr and defect will be the cause of lip end and peripheral surface damage during installation, please use emery paper to remove.

3. Please confirm that there are no defects and rust on the contact surface of the lip, and the defects and rust on the shaft surface are the direct cause of the leakage

3、 Installation

1. When installing the oil seal, the fixture used must be balanced and not inclined; 2. The direction of the oil seal is to face the sealing lip to the side of the sealing medium.

3. During assembly, please place the oil seal horizontally in the cavity and pressurize it evenly. If the oil seal is forced to tilt into the cavity, the matching part of the oil seal will be crushed and stuck, which will cause leakage.

4. If the fitting part is a rubber oil seal, because it is installed in the upright position that has not floated, please repeatedly pressurize twice.

5. When there is no press or no press machine is used on site, the cover plate shall be installed by hammering evenly. Do not tilt during installation and do not directly knock the oil seal body with hammer.

4、 Replacement of oil seal

1. When removing the installation part of the oil seal, it must be replaced with a new oil seal.

2. When removing the oil seal, please do not damage the inner surface of the cavity hole.

3. When the new oil seal is replaced, leave a 2mm seam in the cavity hole. When the lip end of the new oil seal contacts with the shaft, the contact part of the old oil seal is removed.

4. When replacing the oil seal, due to the defects and connecting the internal pressure, it is necessary to apply liquid sealant to the metal oil seal.

5. When applying the sealant, apply a thin layer of liquid sealant on the inner surface of the cavity hole, and wipe off the overflow part carefully. If liquid sealant is applied to the lip and shaft surface by mistake, please note that this will be the cause of leakage.

6. When using the dry and adhesive liquid sealant, it needs more force to remove and damage the cavity, so please use semi dry liquid sealant.

5、 Preservation of oil seal

Please pay attention to the following items when storing and keeping the oil seal

1. Please do not open the original package, for fear of dust and damage.

2. Please don't be exposed to sunlight for a long time. Ultraviolet rays will accelerate the aging of rubber.

3. Please do not place it in a humid place, because the oil seal with metal outer circumference and oil seal with spring will rust.

4. Please do not place it near high temperature heat source such as boiler and furnace, because heat will promote rubber aging.
